I agree. The notebook is the ultimate love story. For those that deal with Alzheimer's Disease this movie is a must see.

I'm with Karen on this one. My wife said Moonstruck, but for me, I was SHOCKED, SHOCKED I SAY, that Casablanca wasn't on the list.

The Body Guard!
Rest in peace Whitney.
It's strange how this question came up the morning after Whitney Houston died. They showed clips about her life and her roll in the body guard, I love the chemistry between her and Kevin Costner!

Casa Blanca, Sleepless in Seattle, Moonstruck, Harry Met Sally, The Body Guard, Dirty Dancing, Bringing Up Baby, the original Topper, countless others. Can there be a best? Its like a heart shaped box with a good sample of chocolate truffles. Faced with any of them, it would be a tough choice. I'd have to try them all.

Loved Pulp Fiction but Tartantino's other movies are too gory for me. Could the faint of heart enjoy it?

I agree with Christine - hard to pick just one! So here's a sample of mine that haven't been mentioned yet - "Something's Gotta Give," "Midnight in Paris," "Overboard" and "The Holiday."

The Princess Bride. Saw it for the first time on a date 20 years ago with this really cool girl, and it's been "true love" ever since. We still watch it regularly.

Princess Bride and Ghost--YES!!! The Sound of Music, YES!! Where are these also: The Graduate?? Breakfast at Tiffany's??? I think Dr. Zhivago, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and Casablanca should be right at the top though. If you have not seen Dr. Zhivago, you NEED to!

Ryen is right. How could we all have forgotten Dr. Zhivago and the amazingly gorgeous Julie Christie. (I mentioned Casablanca earlier, as did others. I think someone else mentioned The English Patient).

Not a traditional love story, but "To Sir, with Love" is a love story of a teacher for edducation, principle, and students--all teachers should see it, mandatorily. Also has the "race" element, of course.... But the issues and connections are key--race does not matter....
