Former Oxford Worker Dies at Age 47

Michael David PAlmer worked at Alternatives Inc. in Oxford.

Michael David Palmer, 47, most recently of Pennington, NJ, passed away suddenly in Princeton, NJ on October 9, 2011.

Michael was born on July 11, 1964 in Peekskill,NY and was a 1982 graduate of Peekskill High School. Michael was an alumnus of Pace University, where he received his Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Master in Public Administration degrees in 1995 and 1997 respectively.

Michael was a longtime resident of the Peekskill-Cortlandt area, and was employed for many years by Westchester ARC in Hawthorne, NY.  Subsequently, Michael was employed as Managing Director for Alternatives Incorporated in Oxford, CT, and most recently as Utilization Management Coordinator for the Carrier Hospital Foundation in Belle Mead, NJ.

Michael was predeceased by his mother Priscilla Palmer in 2009, and is survived by his father, Victor Palmer, and his sister Gail Palmer, both of Peekskill, NY.  He is also survived by his brother, James Palmer of North Brunswick, NJ, his niece Elena Gavrielatos of Lawrenceville,GA, and his nephew Billy Gavrieltatos of Holiday, FL.  In addition to many extended family members, several longtime close friends are left to mourn his passing, especially Steve Uveges of Pennington, NJ. 

Michael will be forever remembered as the quintessential “life of the party” and his loss will be felt by all who knew and loved him for many years to come.

A private Memorial Service was held at Hillside Cemetery in Cortland Manor, NY on October 18, 2011.

Memorial donations made be made in Michael’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
