Memorial Reception for Linda Sue Case

Linda Sue Case, 59, of Oxford, died suddenly in December. She was a longtime local volunteer.

Linda Sue Case, age 59, suddenly left this life on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012. She was the loving companion of the late Rene Lauzier. 

Linda, the youngest of five daughters, was born on Oct. 23, 1953 in Flemington, N.J., daughter of the late Hiram H. and Jean (Hutchinson) (Case) Preckwinkle. Linda worked as a revenue examiner for the State of Connecticut for many years. She had a passion for life and generosity that extended beyond her family to her friends whom she has made over the years. She gave selflessly, in all aspects of her life, to many organizations. She volunteered at Griffin Hospital with more than 500 hours of service. She had a zest for gardening, the outdoors, and being involved with projects of all desires.

Linda is survived by her four remaining sisters, Barbara Brannan of Bastrop, Texas, Nancy Zakrzewski of Harwich, Mass., Patricia McKelvey of Smithville, Texas, and Donna Bugyi of Easton, Penn., her step-parents, Bill and Lydia Preckwinkle, and her brother, Thomas Preckwinkle. She also leaves one niece Cheryl Smith of Georgetown, Texas, her two nephews, Dave Sheppard of Washington, Maine, and Thomas Sheppard of Ringoes, N.J. as well as many friends. In addition to her love, Rene, Linda is predeceased by her sister Mary Sheppard.

Linda’s family would like to thank Resident Trooper Supervisor, Sgt. Daniel Semoski and the entire Connecticut state police and Oxford EMS teams for their assistance and compassion shown to them.

A memorial reception celebrating Linda’s life will be held on April 13, 2013 at the Heritage Hotel, 522 Heritage Rd., Southbury, CT 06488 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions in Linda’s name may be made to: Oxford Ambulance Association, P.O.
