Obituary: Shawn E. Quimby, 40, of Oxford

Man was a member of the American Legion David S. Miles Post 174 in Oxford.

 

Shawn E. Quimby, age 40, of Oxford, entered into peaceful rest Aug. 23, 2012. He was the beloved son of Rosalie (Minkler) Quimby of East Concord, VT, and the late George Quimby.

Mr. Quimby was born in Derby on Aug. 3, 1972. He worked in construction, and most recently with J. Mosley Carpentry and Remodeling. He was a member of the David S. Miles Post 174 American Legion S.A.L.; he was a N.Y. Yankees Fan and UCONN Huskies basketball fan, he was also a fan of NASCAR racing. Shawn enjoyed cooking and had a genuine love for his family and friends,  he also loved dogs and cats. Shawn will be fondly remembered for his hugs, his sense of humor and how he could always make you laugh.

In addition to his mother, Shawn leaves his loving family, including his brother Mike Quimby of Oxford, his sister Pam Nitsche and her husband Bob of Shelton, three nephews, Mike Quimby, Jr., Shawn and Mark Nitsche, his best friend, Becky Cavallaro, of Oxford, and many friends.

A memorial service in celebration of Shawn's life will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St., Seymour. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will also be Wednesday, prior to the service, from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be sent to the David S.
