Southbury Man Wins Oxford Playwright Contest

Nine Mile Players will hold a staged reading of the comedy chosen.

The Nine Mile Players Theater Group of Oxofrd is proud to announce the winner of its fall playwright contest: Bill Metivier of Southbury. Bill’s winning entry The Red Lantern-A Nun Fiction, is a hilarious comedy about four nuns who end up in a night full of wild and unexpected fun.  A staged reading of The Red Lantern will be performed at the Oxford Grange on Feb. 25 at 7 p.m.

The Nine Mile Players will accept a suggested monetary donation of $5 or a nonperishable food item for admission. Nonperishable items collected will be donated to the Oxford Emergency Food bank, sponsored by the Oxford Ambulance Association.
