Weekly Contest: Who Has the Best Pizza in Oxford?

We're looking for your favorites.

It’s Super Bowl week, and Oxford Patch is kicking off a new game: Who has the best (blank) in town?

In this column, we’re looking for your help to highlight the best places for food in town. We’re looking for the best pizza, burgers, wings, ice cream (is that a contest in Oxford?), and others.

This week’s food fight: Who has the best pizza in town?

Here’s how it works:

  • We'll ask a question about your favorites.
  • We invite you to post your nominations in the comments field below.
  • We hope you'll spread the word about this to your friends on Facebook and Twitter and get them involved.
  • Submit comments until 5 p.m. Thursday.

Then:

  • We'll take the top two nominees and post an article first thing Friday morning.
  • That article will include a poll with the top nominees.
  • After the poll starts on Friday, you'll be able to vote until 5 p.m. on Saturday
  • On Sunday morning, we'll announce the winner.

This restaurant review is all about you, our readers — your ideas, your feedback and your voice - so we hope you will chime in and check back.

So, whether it’s the sauce, the cheese, the crust, the service or another secret ingredient, let us know: Who has the best pizza in Oxford?

P.S. If you have recipes for great pizza, please feel free to nominate yourself and have friends vote for you.

Editor's Note: The idea for this contest originated on the Montville, CT, Patch. We thank them for their great idea.

I agree, Zois Pizza is the best around! I have eaten at many around the area and they have the best tasting pizza and cleanest restaurant of any pizza place.

That's fine that people are talking about all local pizza places. While we want people to support Oxford businesses, we also want to know about other good food within the bordering towns. Thanks.

Roma Pizza- Wakelee Ave. Ansonia- Every time we are there we run into Oxford people! Best around! Tastes better if you eat it inhouse. In town I would have to say 121.

Cucina Rustica has the best pizza in Oxford, but Zois' Pizza has the best in Seymour! Greek crust is the best and they have been consistent for years!

Zois is the best pizza anywhere, but if you want it in Oxford its cash only at Oxford Pizza Palace across from Fritz's --same recipe and ingredients, from what I can tell as a connoisseur.

Will, i believe theyre owned by the same family...and yes they ROCk...rolando's has the worst food & service...ordered a bunch of take out a few years back and was told 30 minutes to pick up...i showed up and had to wait over an hour...the mánager said that the receptionist was new & didnt know any better...but instead of comping me a drink while i waited, he acted like it was just too bad for me...when im finally got home the fish in my pasta dish was still frozen...never did i go back again...they ve lost much business since and should have just sported me a 4 dollar draft
