Astrophysics Team Back From Cal-Tech

At 11:45pm on July 20, the astrophysics team walked into the terminal at Bradley International Airport with smiles on their faces.  Even though their flight had been delayed in Denver, due to thunderstorms, they seemed none the worse for wear.

The group of four students and one teacher were joined by students and teachers from Tennessee, New Hampshire and Wisconsin and spent the week working as a team at Cal-tech in Pasadena, California.  While there, they learned graphing techniques and data analysis while inputting data about distance and color of stars and the possible relationships between the two.

It was not all work though.  The group were given tours of JPL and Cal-tech, as well as the Griffith Observatory.

The students spent one evening at the beach, where they were thrilled to put their toes in the Pacific Ocean, and another evening was spent walking along Hollywood Boulevard.

If the energy and enthusiasm they exhibited last evening are any indication, the trip was a complete success.
