Registration Open for Weekly Preschool Enrichment Programs

Webb Mountain Discovery Zone is pleased to announce that online registration is now open for “Summer Discoveries”, an enrichment program for 3, 4 and 5-year olds and their parents/caregivers beginning in early July!   Due to interest from parents, a summer series has been added to complement our spring and autumn weekly preschool program.  This new series will run in addition to Discovery Zone’s existing school field trips, birthdays and special events.   Each of these programs supports our goal to introduce nature to children at an early age, so its benefits will last a lifetime.

Each weekly hour long program will feature a story and craft at the Discovery Zone outdoor classroom and a walk along the trails tying in the day’s theme.  Each Tuesday and Saturday a class will be held at 9am for 4-6 year olds, and an additional class on Saturdays will be offered at 10:30.  The Saturday class has been popular with families who are looking for a creative way to spend time with their preschool or kindergarten students on a weekend.

Tom Ellbogen, Director of the Discovery Zone stated:  “We believe it is critical to make young children’s initial encounter with nature a fun, positive experience.  Studies show that time spent outdoors in natural setting at an early age offers unsurpassed opportunities for mental, emotional and physical growth for children.  Our rich and varied ecosystem provides the perfect platform to offer children a stimulating and memorable experience, with important long-term benefits.”
