Signs of School Opening

Making signs has been a part of my life for almost 30 years.  The original construction of Great Oak / Quaker Farms and Center School signs were made right when I got out of Art College in Boston.  They have not been touched since and were really beginning to show there age.  I originally worked with my father at his sign shop but went on my own 14 years ago so I could be a stay at home mom but still provide income and keep doing the work I loved to do.  Now two of my kids are at Great Oak and the youngest is entering the first grade. I want them and all the students to be proud of the schools they attend and the entrance signs should be first impression.  I asked the Board of Education if I could refurbish the signs and wanted to donate my time to do so.  I feel this town has supported my business and children and wanted to give back something. The signs were constructed of redwood a material that is to last a lifetime.   But the paint and artwork on them does need to be kept up.
