Expect Lane Closures, Traffic Stops During Construction on Christian Street

The road will be down to one lane and traffic could be halted at times during certain hours.

Work that began last month on the reconstruction of Christian Street from Towner Lane north to Robinson Lane will require closing all but one lane of traffic at times.

The construction — bid at just under $1.56 million — includes grade changes, widening of the roadway, and new drainage systems and safety improvements.

During certain phases of the project, traffic will be restricted to a single, alternating lane of travel from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Traffic might also be halted for up to 10 minutes at a time between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. (non-holidays only).

Drivers are being asked to show caution when traveling through the construction area and are advised to use alternate routes when possible.

Guerrera Construction Company, the winning bidder, is scheduled to finish the reconstruction project by Nov. 26.
