Old Tyme Flea Market Comes to Twitchell-Rowland Homestead June 21st

The Oxford Historical Society is sponsoring the second annual Old Homestead Flea Market on Saturday, June 21st from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Twitchell-Rowland Museum, 60 Towner Lane in Oxford.

The museum will be open for docent-led tours during the event.  Water, coffee, tea and homemade baked goods will be available.

The Historical Society is seeking arts and crafts and other vendors to purchase ten by ten vendor spaces at the cost of $15.00 each.  Applications and regulations are available online by clicking hereor by calling Jane Hulbert at 203 734-4446 or Marcia Wrogg at 203 888-6627.  Reservations for vendors will be available until all 18 spaces are sold.

Proceeds from the Old Tyme Flea Market will go towards paving the museum driveway. To date, members and friends of the Oxford Historical Society have donated over $1,400 towards the paving of the Homestead driveway and parking area.  The Historical Society raised the funds by participating in online donation programs sponsored by the Connecticut Community Foundation and the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven.

Both foundations have supported the Historical Society in their efforts to save the 1750's farmhouse and to prepare it for serving as Oxford's first museum and history education center.
