Oxford Man Protects Children From Copperhead Snake

A reader tells us about the man's quick actions.

A local man is being credited with quickly thinking to protect children in an area where he saw a copperhead snake Tuesday night at Jackson Cove Park.

Here is what reader Theresa Martell wrote to Patch:

Hello,
we were at the Cove last night and there were boys over by the dock area.
Mr. Joe Hines went over and he acted very quickly as there was a snake
not far from the boys. If it were not for Joe Hines taking such quick
action and killing the snake, we could have had a possible tragedy.  The snake was a copperhead.

What do you think about this man's actions?
