Oxford Parks & Rec Offering Dance Classes

Classes will be held the week of July 9th. Register now.

The dance instructor for the Oxford Parks and Rec department, Miss Elisabeth Fox, will once again be offering two new mini camps for local children. They will be held at Oxford Center School during the week of July 9th– 13th.

“Summer Dance  Camp” for ages 4 to 6 will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Young dancers will focus on basic ballet moves, create a group dance and partake in dance related crafts. It costs $55 for the week.  On the final day, the students will perform their group dance for their parents. A daily snack will be provided.

Attire: Comfortable clothing or leotard. Ballet shoes are desirable but not required.

“Summer Dance Experience” for ages 7 and up will be held from 10:30 a.m to 11:45 p.m. for ballet, jazz and tap. The dancers will spend time on technique and creating a group dance. They will also have time for a dance related craft and a daily snack. The cost is $65. The last day of class the dancers will perform their group piece.

Attire: Comfortable clothing or leotard. Shoes: Ballet slippers (desirable but not required.)

* Tap will be included if the participants have tap shoes.  But do not buy them just for the camp.

Non residents are welcome to join these dance programs for a small additional fee.  You may register online by going to OxfordRec.com or you can call the Parks and Rec office at 203 888-2543, Ext 3041.  Book  early as space is limited.
