Photos: New Tennis Courts Dedicated in Touching Ceremony

The tennis courts in Oxford were built in honor of the late Ryan VerNooy.

The family of Ryan VerNooy was dedicated to making sure the young man's memory lives on in Oxford. And on Saturday, they made sure that is the case.

The family gathered with several local dignitaries at the site of the new tennis courts that the family built through donations and grants. The courts on Great Oak Road, accross from the elementary school, can be used by anybody in the community.

VerNooy was a lifelong Oxford resident who died in a car accident at age 23 in December 2010.

The Vernooy's have clearly answered the question of - What good can come from tradegy? Having endured every parents nightmare, I hope that our thanks and vigorous use of their generous gift will provide smiles to accompany the tears.
