Report: More Than 30 Dogs Seized From Southbury Woman

The woman tells NBC Connecticut that she rescued the animals, and that only she can tend to their medical needs.

A Southbury woman is pleading for the return of her 31 dogs and three cats after authorities seized the animals from her Georges Hill Road home Thursday.

According to a report by NBC Connecticut, authorities at the state Department of Agriculture said there were concerns that the dogs were not being properly cared for. They seized the animals and took them to a vet to be evaluated.

The woman, Nancy Boeckel, tells the news outlet that the animals were sick and slated to be put down before she took them in.
