Quinnipiac University Theater for Community will perform “Coastal Disturbances” at Long Wharf Theatre, Stage II, April 12-15. Crystal Brian, professor of theater at Quinnipiac, will direct.
“Coastal Disturbances” by Tina Howe is a comedy about the dizzying and disconcerting effects of love. This ensemble play, set on a private beach on the North Shore of Massachusetts, follows the stories of four generations of vacationers and focuses on the romance of professional photographer Holly Dancer and the handsome but shy, unsophisticated lifeguard Leo Hart. Emily Seibert, of Oxford, will play Holly, and Michael Bobenhausen, of Danbury, will play Leo.
In addition to Seibert and Bobenhausen, the student cast also includes: Michelle Ayrapetyan of Richboro, Pa.; Aleczander Farquharson of Natick, Mass.; Jessica Lehman of Nashua, N.H.; Juli McGourty of Worcester, Mass.; and Jessica Otterbine of Keyport, N.J. Drew Scott, an adjunct theater professor at Quinnipiac, and Peter Wood, a professional actor, also will perform in the production.
Curtain time is at 8 p.m. on April 12-13; 4 p.m. on April 14; and 2 p.m. on April 15.
General admission tickets are $12. Students and seniors pay $8. A special two-for-one alumni discount is available for Friday and Saturday’s performances. For tickets, please call 203-582-8743.
