More "feel good" politics that will serve no purpose other than to further diminish your constitutional rights.

Far too many Americans are concerned only about their "rights" and give too little regard to the rights of others and to their responsibilities to the larger society. The delusion that this selfish stance is in any way patriotic has infested this country like a cancer. "That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted AMONG Men" - not for man but among men which denotes a certain level of cooperation and a necessary compromise of self-interested liberty.

Im so sick of Chris Murphy and his gang. He has no clue, as do many, many MANY others, what an actual assault weapon is. They just listen to and believe all the hype. This shooting in Newton was a sad, tragic, downright awful, nasty thing.. I think we ALL agree on that. But for the anti gun crowd, our elected politicians and our GOVERNMENT, to actually stand on the bodies of 26 dead people to try and get their agendas across is just beyond believeable!! Have they no shame? no feelings? All the folks screaming about gun laws and taking away the 2nd ammendment should be ashamed sickened at themselves and people like MR Murphy who have no qualms about using the victems in Newtown just to make a political point to further their careers. Sick to death should be the general public about this that they should run out of office, the politicians who would stoop as low as to do this. This goes to show you what sick, low, pathetic, selfish indiviguals we have in office. 20 Innocent children are gone... and all you people do is rant and rave and use these little angels as a stage from which to force your views down our throats... and I have to say, even worse than that are those who do not care one bit about this and actually will hop right up there next to you and drink your vile poison! STOP USING THE DEAD AS A PLATFORM FOR YOUR TRAITOROUS AGENDAS!!!

Paranoid, agenda-laden gun rant duly noted. Calls for change after a tradegy are normal and to be expected. They are not always part of the evil, sinister agenda by the ever ready liberals to confiscate your guns and take the pork skins out of your mouth. A little less Hannity ought to do the trick.
Where is the common sense? January 15, 2013 at 05:40 PM
Wake up John...if you can NOT see the writing on the walls all over the U.S. then you are just ignorant. This administration is on a high speed course to destroy this Country...it's not conspiracy...it's a FACT!

Wow, the gun nuts really are out today. Obviously the gun owners of America are NOT a well-regulated militia. Guns are used to kill many thousands of Americans every year. I guess that is their "right?" That is their "freedom?" That is something only "traitors" think calls for a big change? So we are supposed to just put up with another mass shooting every 3 weeks as a cost of "freedom?" As if your guns will "protect you from the government?" Most likely those who think guns protect them from the government are people who don't even believe in government. They only believe in violence and are preparing for the breakdown of society, since human values must only be a "feel good" delusion that our Constitution intended to make society a war zone? I finally see why they are called "gun nuts." In their own words, "sick, pathetic, low, selfish traitors" indeed.

Oh here we go with the name calling because you cannot argue any facts without resorting to immature behavior. Ed...get a clue and stop calling people names just because they do not think guns are the problem. Law abiding "gun nuts" as you call them are not the problem!! Criminals and people with MENTAL problems, who will NOT follow guns laws are the problem...and if you think otherwise then you are in need of mental help yourself.

If the past administration's attempts to justify torture, survail Americans and suspend due process rights didn't destroy America, you should probably be able to survive having a black President. Sometimes it amazes me that people who are so well versed in certain parts of our Constitution seem to have so little faith in the system of government that it lays out. I guess are system only works if it works for you. What may yet ruin America is this individualist notion.
Ed Smith January 15, 2013 at 06:51 PM
But apparently you have no problem with gun-lovers calling a US Senator "sick, low, pathetic, selfish indiviguals" (sic) with "no shame? no feelings?" and "who would stoop as low as to do this," who "rant and rave" and offer us "vile poison?" And do you dispute "the facts" that many thousands are killed with guns in the US every year, or that mass shootings average about every 3 weeks? Was Nancy Lanza an example of a "law abiding gun nut?"
