The National Weather Service (NWS) is warning of a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Oxford and the surrounding area, with thunderstorms expected to bring heavy rains and the potential for flooding Tuesday into Wednesday night.
“Periods of heavy showers and embedded thunderstorms” are likely Tuesday through Wednesday night, the NWS forecasts, “as a slow moving frontal system” passes over parts of New York, northern Fairfield County and southern Connecticut.
The heavy rains could cause localized flooding today and tomorrow, especially in such as the White Turkey intersection at the southern end of Federal Road and roads close to the Still River and Candlewood and Lillinonah Lakes.
