UPDATE: Accident Cleared on Route 8

Tractor trailer accident occurred at 12:30 p.m. in Seymour.

A jackknifed tractor trailer closed the southbound lane of Route 8 between exits 22 and 24 in Seymour for at least three hours on Monday.

The accident occurred just before 12:30 p.m. Monday (May 24), according to the state Department of Transportation, which said on its Twitter feed that 30 gallons of fluids spilled into waterways because of the accident.

The accident was cleared around 3:30 p.m. 

The Valley Independent Sentinel is reporting that police dispatched an ambulance for minor injuries, though those injuries were unknown.
