Lake Zoar Authority Wants to Hear From Residents

Meetings will be held at different locations every month to allow more people to participate in discussions.

Beginning next month the Lake Zoar Authority will hold its monthly meetings at different locations following a rotating schedule. Each town represented by the LZA will now host three meetings per year at a specified facility within that town.

Previous to this year, all meetings had been held at Southbury Town Hall.

“We feel this will provide greater accessibility to those who wish to attend any of the meetings and allow for better public participation and comments from the communities the LZA represents,” said a release on the LZA website.

The Lake Zoar Authority is a multi-town organization consisting of representatives from the four towns that border the lake – Southbury, Monroe, Newtown and Oxford. The Lake Zoar Authority is tasked with the goals of improving water quality and promoting safe boating on the lake, according to their website.

Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. and are open to the public. The complete meeting schedule can be accessed in the photo box above.
