Oxford Ambulance Raises Money for Family of Drowning Victim

Donations may be made online, by mail or in person.

Ambulance is raising money to aid the family of Austin “DJ” Brooks, the 24-year-old local man who drowned Saturday when he had a seizure and .

The Connecticut Post reported that Brooks’ sister, April, is a volunteer for Oxford ambulance as well as a dispatcher for the Northwest Connecticut Safety Communication Center. She was working as a dispatcher Saturday when the ambulance call was received for her brother.

As of Wednesday morning, the toward a goal of $5,000. Donations may be made through the web site, or by mail to Oxford Ambulance, P.O. Box 515, Oxford, CT 06478, or in person at Oxford Ambulance, 484 Oxford Road, Oxford. (Note on checks that the donation is for April Brooks.)
