Oxford Eye on the Beltway: Himes Says Romney=Robot

Lieberman on CNN with John McCain; Democrats aim at likely GOP presidential nominee.

BLUMENTHAL: The U.S. Government, along with a coalition of states, is suing Apple and several book publishers for an alleged price fixing scheme of eBooks. A Reuters article quotes U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a former attorney general, about the case.

"If it were not a new kind of product, people would say it's a kind of garden variety violation of law," Blumenthal said. "The idea that this innovation can be stifled is particularly troubling."

 ***

LIEBERMAN: U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman and colleague Sen. John McCain were interviewed by Anderson Cooper on CNN about their visit to the refugees from Syria. The video is attached to this article.

***

DELAURO: U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro fired off several tweets criticizing Mitt Romney, the likely Republican nominee for president. Below are three of them.

Romney campaign’s inability to articulate a position on fundamental right like pay equity is appalling. #WellGetBackToYouOnThat

WellGetBackToYouOnThat by Romney demonstrates rhetoric on women’s issues is devoid of knowledge of what women need for economic security.

Still no answer from @MittRomney. Will you support the Paycheck Fairness Act? #77cents #fairpay

HIMES: U.S. Rep. Jim Himes also joined in by opposing Mitt Romney. He zinged Romney on Twitter after quoting the Wall Street Journal about 4,000 robot units being “indispensable to the U.S. military.”

Himes added, “Plus, one wants to be Commander in Chief.”

MURPHY: U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy shared on Twitter a government website that conveniently compares the cost of different colleges. Just type in the names of the schools you’re interested in and the different prices show up.

This article seems to be nothing more than an anonymous and free infomercial for Staples.Read More "J" posted this same spam "article" on Patch sites in many towns, just changing the name of the town to match the Patch site. That seems to be the spirit of Staples, free-loading in every way they can. Even this "teacher program" has nothing to do with eliminating the need for teachers to spend their own money on school supplies --it is simply a way for that retailer to take advantage of the situation by attracting the lucrative teacher market. Staples should change their name to MADE IN CHINA OFFICE SUPPLIES, as virtually nothing they sell is manufactured in our country.

Great to see IMTI leading the way into the solar future! I went to that school specifically toRead More become a solar electrician. It was before they had a solar program, at the time it was the E-2 electrical course. I see America has a chance to build prosperity again if we will be forward-looking about our manufacturing and energy strategies. My company, Made In USA Solar LLC, aims to contribute to that in a small way, doing what we can by only installing materials made in USA. Congrats to IMTI on their ambitious solar plans!
