Oxford Girl, 12, Run Over By Car While Sledding
The girl is stable after 3 p.m. incident on Hart Court.
A 12-year-old local girl was struck by a car while sled riding in a front yard on Hart Court Thursday afternoon.
The girl accidentially entered the roadway and slid underneath a car, which ran over her legs with its back tires, according to Oxford emergency services personnel. The incident happened at the home of the girl's friend around 3 p.m.; Oxford had no school today.

Oxford Ambulance transported her to St. Vincent's Hospital where she was listed in stable condition early Thursday evening.
Oxford Fire Chief Scott Pelletier said he's heard of similar sledding incidents but never in Oxford.

"Kids have to be careful when sledding; they have to be aware of their surroundings," he said.
Hart Court is a dead-end street off of Good Hill Road near Jackson Cove Park.
