Town to Hold Holiday Kickoff Tonight

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Oxford's Town Hall.

 

The town of Oxford will hold its annual holiday kickoff at the Stephen B. Church Memorial Town Hall this evening, Friday, Dec. 7.

The festivities begin at 6 p.m. with music being performed by local school children. A tree lighting ceremony will be held promptly at 6:30 p.m.

Attendees are then invited to head inside for food and refreshments, including hot chocolate, coffee, sandwiches, etc.

There are also several events for children to enjoy. Santa Claus will be brought to town on a fire truck, and children can get their photos taken with him at the gazebo. There is also a large snow globe that children can go in and have their photos taken, as well.

The event, put on by the town’s Parks and Recreation Department, is free and open to the public. The Parks and Rec Dept. also has small toys for children.
