Volunteers Sought to Tear Down, Rebuild Playground at Oxford Center School

The playground will be built in memory of a 6-year-old girl from Oxford who died in 1985.

Volunteers in Oxford are in the process of rebuilding the playground at Oxford Center School and they can use your help.

A group of volunteers will meet tomorrow, Saturday, July 13, at Center School to dismantle the old playground. The group is asking people 18 and over the help with the process.

The old playground was built in 1985 in memory of the late Rachel Roman, an Oxford Center School student who died that year at age 6. Her parents, Ed and Pam, are on the committee. The new playground will also be dedicated in her memory.

On top of people to dismantle, the committee is seeking church groups, scouts and anyone else who can serve refreshments and help with cleanup, etc.

Many more volunteers are needed for Aug. 17 when the playground is built.

If you are interested in helping, please contact the group on Facebook at Rebuild Center School Playground or contact Jen Wolyniec at 203-512-1829. See the fliers above for more details.
