Oxford Grange #194 Hometown Small Business Fair

OXFORD GRANGE #194 -

A UNIQUE HOMETOWN SMALL BUSINESS FAIR

If
you've ever wondered, "What The Grange Is", come and see. We are holding a new unique Hometown
Small Business Fair at The Oxford Grange #194,  on
Saturday, May 3, 2014 to increase public awareness of the variety of
small businesses in our area. The fair will be held at the Oxford Grange
Hall located at 482 Oxford Rd, Rte 67 in Oxford, CT. The event is open
to the general public and runs from 9AM to 2PM.  Admission is free but
donations to our "Save Our Hall" building renovation
fund will be gladly accepted. .
A variety of vendors have signed up for the fair and will be on hand to
exhibit their goods and services. This is an excellent opportunity for
the public to learn about what hometown businesses, goods and services
are offered in this area. We have placed a special interest on where consumers can
obtain local
dairy, beef and produce.
Just added Daffodil Hill Growers to our front lawn. They will be providing some awesome
Mothers Day plants and cold spring bedding veggies
to purchase for your gardens. Stop by and see what they have to offer and sign up for
their Fall CSA program. They're already sold out for the summer!
In addition to the vendor displays, there will be a number of speakers
on a variety of topics. Ronald Emond, DVM, of Candlewood
Equine will speak at 11AM on equine parasite control. Next Step Living
will offer periodic talks on home energy efficiency and alternative
clean energy resources, i.e. solar/gas. TLC Homecare of Woodbury will
explain what homecare assistance services they offer to the public.
Heritage Financial Group will offer periodic talks on retirement income
planning and Envirocare, LLC will be answering questions on pest
control.
The Reiki Connection will offer brief relaxation sessions for a small
fee. Amongst the other vendors attending are: online groceries and cleaning supplies, handmade
jewelry, candles, woodworking, long-arm quilting, freezer plans,
organic and gluten free food items, simple to prepare meals,
photography, cake decorating services and many more. A creative vendor
doing face painting will be here for the children.

We
are grateful for the generous donations from The All American Valley
General Store, Nardelli's and the new restaurant in town: Brennan Shebeen (formerly Oxford House) to
start our General Store raffle.
