425 Stepped Out on Route 67 for the Memorial Day Freedom Run/Walk.

Oxford Village did it again.

The 2014 Freedom Run/Walk was the most successful yet. Runners, Walkers, a Penguin and Fun Runners took to Route 67 early Memorial Day morning. The weather was gorgeous, the mood festive and the spirit cooperative.  The day was not without its cliches.  We ran out of pins, but the participants shared with one another (2 work as well as 4). We ran out of shirts, but that was because we only printed 300.  We ran out of water.  For that we were embarrassed and promise to double stock next year.  Inspite of all this, as the last person crossed the finish line and the caps were being awarded to runners by age, all seemed to enjoy the 6th Annual Oxford Freedom Run Walk. Thanks to our sponsors especially the Valley Community Foundation, Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan, and Oxford Paint and Hardware. Thanks also to
