Oxford Students Organize Pasta Fundraiser for Jackson Family

Great Oak Middle School drama students are hosting a special pasta dinner fundraiser on June 5 in support of their classmate and the Jackson family, who are recovering from the sudden and violent loss of mother and daughter Lori Jackson-Gellatly.

The students will be holding the fundraising dinner at Oxford High School from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Cost for the dinner is $10 for adults and $8 for children and senior citizens.

Funds raised from this pasta dinner will directly support the children, stepchildren and family of Jackson-Gellatly, who was killed in a domestic shooting incident earlier this month that also left her mother, Merry Jackson, hospitalized with serious injuries.

Donations of uncooked pasta, sauce, meatballs, paper goods, desserts and raffle items, etc., as well as people interested in helping with the dinner are welcome. Please contact Amy Carlone Cote on Facebook under “Oxford Cares,’’ Pasta Dinner.

There will also be a box in town hall where people can leave donations of jars of pasta sauce, dry boxes of pasta, plastic utensils, paper plates, napkins, plastic table cloths, cups and dry lemonade and ice tea mixes.
