Lucky Oxford Man Claims $1.5 Million Lottery Prize

The winning ticket was purchased in Seymour.

Michael Quinn of Oxford recently purchased a $5 instant ticket, which resulted in an experience that’s pretty hard to beat — he won one of the game’s top prizes, worth $7,500 a month for life!

“Win up to $7,500 a Month for Life” top prizes are paid as $7,500 a month for life with a guaranteed minimum total payout of $1,800,000, or as a one-time gross cash option payment of $1,500,000.

Quinn arrived at CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill last week and selected the cash option, taking home a prize check for $1,024,501, the value after taxes.

“This will help pay some bills, but we’ll invest the rest,” said Quinn. “Thanks to this prize, now we’ll have a retirement!”

The lottery retailer where Quinn purchased his ticket, In & Out Market located at 385 Roosevelt Drive in Seymour, is also feeling pretty lucky. They will receive an $18,000 bonus check from the CT Lottery for selling the ticket.

“This win means a lot to me,” said the owner of In & Out Market, Mitul Patel.  “It helped out one of my customers, it creates a big buzz for the business as a lucky lottery retailer, and it allows me to share some of the selling bonus with my store manager and my employees who all work very hard.”

Of the five top prizes in the $7,500 a Month for Life instant game, three remain to be claimed.

The overall chance to win a prize in the Win up to $7,500 a Month for Life is 1 in 4.09.  Odds of winning the $7,500 a month for life top prize are 1 in 2,000,000.

The above press release is from the CT Lottery.
