Devil Wins This Halloween: 6-6-6- Hits on CT Lotto

More than 1,500 people played the number, lottery officials say.

They say a good way to get broke in a hurry is to try to get rich quick.

Maybe so, but for 1,520 Connecticut “Play3 Night” players who weren't superstitious, the quicker the better this Halloween.

Triple 6’s will pay out $598,225 in prizes for the October 28, 2013, drawing, according to CT Lottery, who announced that 6-6-6 was picked in the Monday's Play3 Night drawing.

Because payouts in the Play3 Night game are based upon the amount wagered, players who had 6-6-6 on their Play3 Night tickets for October 28 can expect to win from $25 up to $2,500 per wager in prize money.

Statewide, 1,520 winning wagers were sold and after all winning claims are presented, $598,225 in prize money will be paid out by the CT Lottery.

“It’s always fun and exciting when a triple single digit is drawn because so many people are particularly fond of playing these numbers," said Anne M. Noble, President and CEO of the CT Lottery in a release.

Though the bulk of winners will most likely redeem their tickets in the next few days, players with winning tickets have 180-days from the date of draw to collect their winnings.  High-Tier Claim Centers are able to cash CT Lottery prizes up to $5,000.

The Lottery encourages responsible play, and reminds the public that you must be 18 or older to purchase or redeem lottery tickets.  For more information about the CT Lottery, stop by your local lottery retailer, visit ctlottery.org or call 860-713-2700.
