Introduction Letter

Dear Oxford Residents,

My name is Marcy Kaether and I am running for the Board of Education.  I have been married for 15 years and Oxford has been our home for the past 13 years.  Before deciding to stay home and care for my children I was a very successful result driven professional with a proven ability to execute.

My past professional experience included positions with Oxford Health Plans where I was a top performer who exceeded expectations while achieving exceptional results.

I then took the same determination and drive that served me during my professional career and applied them towards improving my community.  With all four children in the Oxford school system I have a very large interest in making sure that Oxford provides the very best educational atmosphere for the town.

-  I am a proven innovator and self-starter – I created, designed and managed several highly successful fund raising events for the Oxford School District

-  I initiated a yearbook program for Quaker Farms School. This program has resulted in thousands of dollars of annual income for QFS and has proven to be one of their most successful fund raising activities

- I have an extremely diverse set of qualifications ranging from Information Technology professional to administrative functions and business analysis.

-  I have volunteered hundreds of hours in the past 7 years in the Oxford School system. These activities range from events and fundraising to administrative help

-  I am also an advocate for Autism awareness, active in Girl Scouts for over 4 years as a leader and volunteer, a supporter of Oxford Babe Ruth baseball, and an active member of the PTO.

I decided to run for the Board of Education because I care about the children in this town and their future.  I want to ensure that the BOE continues to move in the right direction in providing our children with the tools and support they need to be successful.  Volunteering all these years has given me the opportunity to get to know and care for the kids in our community and I would like to be their voice.  I want to represent them and those children who have a more difficult time expressing themselves.  Having a child in the special needs program motivates me to push myself every day and to do whatever I can to help Oxford to continue to move forward.  If you have any question or concerns please feel free to contact me at tsorders1@yahoo.com

Thank you.
