Library Offers Unique Opportunities for Fun in May

Library to host more than just storytimes.

What is the one place where you can go to sing potty songs, eat a Star Wars snack, and do yoga all in the same month? At the Oxford Public Library, you can enjoy these things and more!

The library will offer a variety of exciting and unique events for children and adults in May. Registration is required for all free events unless otherwise noted.

On May 2 at 4:30 p.m., second graders - fifth graders are invited to join the library's new Book Talk Club. The librarian will introduce participants to books that have received positive reviews from critics. Each child will choose a book to read. Then, they will return on May 16 at 4:30 p.m. to let their peers know whether or not they agree with the critics and recommend the book. Participants will choose from picture books, graphic novels, nonfiction books and novels. This is a fun way to learn about new titles!

On May 13 at 5 p.m. and on May 30 at 6:30 p.m., the library will host Knitting Group meetings for patrons ranging in age from seven to ninety-seven.
