This map shows a snapshot of how many women gave birth as teenagers across different areas.

Nationally, the teen pregnancy rate has gone down in the past 20 years, but the U.S. still has a higher rate than many other developed countries. You'll have to zoom out of town to see the larger pockets where teen parenting is more common.

The data are from the United States Census Bureau's 2011 American Community Survey. These values are an estimate for 2011 taking into account 60 months of collected data. You can learn more about the survey here.
