Obit: Joan James, 90, of Oxford

She worked for the Merchant Navy in Great Britain

Joan James, 90 of Oxford, entered into eternal rest peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at her residence. The beloved wife of the late Frank James. Joan was born in Manchester, England on June 13, 1923, the daughter of the late William and Nellie Williams Collins. Joan resided in the United States  for the past 10 years, previously she resided in England. She was a retired civil servant having worked for the Merchant Navy in Great Britain. Joan enjoyed reading and gardening. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends and will remain forever in our hearts

Her loving family includes three devoted sons Brian M. James and his wife Siew Fern of Rotherham, England, Peter A. Eisner of The Lizard, England and Gary D. James and his wife Julianna of Oxford, eleven loving grandchildren and three cherished great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving brother Stanley Collins. 

Services and Interment will be held privately at the convenience  of the family.
