Obituary: Anne Slie, of Oxford, age 90

Mrs. Anne (Yustin) Slie, age 90, beloved wife of the late William J. Slie, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Mar. 23, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 25, 1923 in Oxford and was the daughter of the late Theodore and Esther (Sokol) Yustin. She was a graduate of Seymour High School, Class of 1941. Mrs. Slie worked at Klarides Supermarket for many years before her retirement. She was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd and was devoted to her family and those less fortunate than her.

Mrs. Slie is survived by her three sons, William J. Slie, Jr. of Seymour, Robert Slie and his wife Rosemary of Oxford and James Slie and his wife Marcie of Seymour, five grandchildren, Tina Slie of Monroe, Wendy Carrafiello and her husband Joseph of Seymour, Stefanie Slie of Derby, Shelby Slie of Waterbury, Haley Slie and her fiancé Jordan Addis of Seymour, two great grandsons, Joey and Robby Carrafiello, her sister in law, Muriel DeRienzo of Seymour, and her caretaker, Carolina and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Antoinette Yarosevich, Anthony Yustin, Martha Balko, Alexander Yustin and John Yustin.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, Mar. 26 at 10:15 a.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd. Family and Friends may call from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the Funeral Home prior to services. Interment will be held in private.
