Obituary: Antoinette (Nardello) Talevi, 92

Frank and Antoinette (Talevi) owned Village Fabric Care in Seymour.

Antoinette (Nardello) Talevi, aged 92, died on December 24, 2012. She left the world as graciously and gently as she lived in it, a beautiful woman full of love, patience, kindness and joy.

Antoinette was born on October 22, 1920, in Naugatuck, Connecticut to James and Vicenza (Jennie) Nardello, the third of six children. She married Frank Talevi in 1940 and had three children, Joyce, David and Lori, all of whom were raised in Naugatuck. Frank and Antoinette were the owners of Talevi’s Furniture in Naugatuck, where Antoinette worked as the store’s buyer and interior designer. Later, the couple owned Avenue Cleaners in Naugatuck and Village Fabric Care in Seymour, CT.

Mrs. Talevi was a communicant of St. Francis Church and then a founding member of St. Vincent Ferrer Church, where she sang in the choir with her four sisters until she was eighty-five. Antoinette was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Christopher Columbo Ladies’ Auxiliary. She travelled extensively, especially to be with her son and his family at Sea-Vu Campgrounds in Wells, Maine.

Antoinette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Her home was warm and welcoming, and she created a sense of peace and happiness wherever she was. Antoinette lives on through her daughter, Lori Talevi Ferreira; her daughter-in-law, Elaine Talevi; her sister, Jane Curina; and, through her grandchildren Thomas Waite, Janna Waite, David Talevi and his wife Molly, Jason Talevi and his wife Lee, and John Ferreira. She also leaves four great grandchildren Jack, Olivia, Brandon and Eva Frankie Talevi. Her family considers it an honor and a blessing that Antoinette was a part of their lives for so many wonderful years.

Antoinette is predeceased by her husband Frank Talevi, her daughter Joyce Talevi, her son David Talevi, and her grandson Richard Waite, as well as by her sisters Evelyn Wolcin, Helene (Sis) Masone, Adele Scholan and her brother James Nardello. Her family that survives her is comforted that she has so many loving relatives waiting for her in heaven.

The funeral will be held on Saturday December 29,2012 at 9:15 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home 26 Waterbury Rd. Route 69 Prospect to St. Vincent Ferrer Church 1006 New Haven Rd. Naugatuck for a mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday December 28, 2012 from 4 to 7:30 p.m.

This article seems to be nothing more than an anonymous and free infomercial for Staples.Read More "J" posted this same spam "article" on Patch sites in many towns, just changing the name of the town to match the Patch site. That seems to be the spirit of Staples, free-loading in every way they can. Even this "teacher program" has nothing to do with eliminating the need for teachers to spend their own money on school supplies --it is simply a way for that retailer to take advantage of the situation by attracting the lucrative teacher market. Staples should change their name to MADE IN CHINA OFFICE SUPPLIES, as virtually nothing they sell is manufactured in our country.

Great to see IMTI leading the way into the solar future! I went to that school specifically toRead More become a solar electrician. It was before they had a solar program, at the time it was the E-2 electrical course. I see America has a chance to build prosperity again if we will be forward-looking about our manufacturing and energy strategies. My company, Made In USA Solar LLC, aims to contribute to that in a small way, doing what we can by only installing materials made in USA. Congrats to IMTI on their ambitious solar plans!
