Obituary: Patricia Mary Wilder Keckler, 77, of Oxford

She was an avid homemaker, sports enthusiast, loved to garden and sew and especially loved her cherished grandchildren.

 

Patricia Mary Wilder Keckler, age 77 of Oxford, beloved wife of 50 years to the late William L. Keckler , entered into eternal rest Saturday October 13, 2012 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born in Britstol, CT on September 17, 1935 , the loving daughter of the late Richard L. and Agnes Massey Wilder. She was a devout communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Oxford. Patricia was a retired employee of Hassler Incorporated of Shelton. She had moved from Ansonia to Oxford in 1968. She was an avid homemaker, sports enthusiast, loved to garden and sew and especially loved her cherished grandchildren.

Patricia was a member of the Bicentennial History Flag Team, long time Unit President of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 174, Oxford, Past President 2nd District American Legion Auxiliary and numerous chairmanships, Le Petit Chapeau Pasé of 8/40 Salon 60, long time volunteer at West Haven Veterans Hospital, West Haven, many years as American Legion Department of CT Poppy Co-Chairman. Also she was a member of La Caissiere 8/40 Salon 60 Departmental La Caissiere. She had mentored at Bungay School of Seymour.

Her loving family includes three caring sons Lawrence W. Keckler and his wife Amy of Branford, Edward J. Keckler of Waterbury, and William H. Keckler and his wife Beth of Seymour, and a devoted daughter Cynthia Keckler of Oxford, her beloved brother Richard A. Wilder of Lakeland,FL., and six cherished grandchildren Matthew, Ryan, Shayna, Erica, Jeremy, and Hayden Keckler, and several nieces and nephews. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held (Directly)at St. Thomas the Apostle Church ,733 Oxford Rd., Oxford on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. Inurnment at Southford Cemetery, Oxford will take place in private at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives may call on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street, 'Rte 67' Seymour (opposite Klarides Village). Memorial gifts may be made in Patricia's memory to The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 174, 43 Oxford Rd. (Rt 67) Oxford,CT 06478.

Politicians and or Anti-Americans only believe that the constitutions are a dead document. They are excuses to put forth an agenda. Without Constitutions this country would be chaos and we wouldn't have the freedoms we have today. Only in your eye's does the words not apply because you think government can prevent and do anything they want. It's the people that rule, NOT THE POLITICIANS!

That is looking at the Constitution as a dead piece of paper instead of a living document. LivingRead More Constitutions read as if they were written yesterday not over 250 years ago. Is the Constitution living or dead. When common sense and ordinary circumstances show that the words of the Constitution no longer apply then the document is dead. That is what occurs when weapons/arms have become so powerful and dangerous that having them available in the numbers you have in this country is tantamount to ultimate murder and chaos. This is definitely not what the Framers had in mind as shown by the words prefacing the 2nd amendment referring to a militia.
