Obituary: Lynn Schiavi, 67, of Oxford

Mrs. Schiavi was a longtime teacher who will be remembered for her devotion to education.

 

Lynn D. Schiavi, age 67 of Oxford entered into peaceful rest December 27, 2012 at CT Hospice, Branford; she was the beloved wife of 45 years to Charles Schiavi. Mrs. Schiavi was born May 20, 1945 in Derby, loving daughter of Vera (Winsco) Domareck of Seymour and the late Myron Domareck. Lynn was retired Teacher having taught for over 40 years at the Mohegan School, Shelton; she was a communicant of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, and was a member of the Oxford Garden Club. Lynn will be fondly remembered for her devotion to education, "she loved teaching, teaching was her life". 

In addition to her husband and mother, Lynn leaves her loving family including, her son C. Todd Schiavi and his wife Janelle of W. Haven, her daughter, Tacia Neumann and her husband Marc of Seymour, her brother, Myron J. Domareck and his wife Geri of Sedalia, CO, her sister, Shari Calderwood and her husband John of Oxford, 3 grandchildren, Avery Vera Neumann, Brayden A. Schiavi, and Dia Lynn Schiavi, and several nieces and nephews. Her sister Joann Domareck predeceased her.

Funeral Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, to St. Peter's Episcopal Church 1 Dutton Rd., Oxford where a Service of Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will follow. Calling Hours are Wednesday at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial Gifts may be sent to Barrows Neurological Institute, St. Joseph’s Hospital, 350 W. Thomas Road, Phoenix, AZ 85013.
