Obituary: Nicole Cheri (McGrath) McDonald, 25, of Seymour

Loving mother died tragically in car accident on Route 34 in Derby Monday morning.

Nicole Cheri (McGrath) McDonald, age 25, of Seymour passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2013 as the result of a car accident. She was the wife of Brian McDonald.

Nicole was born in Denver, Colorado on March 25, 1988, daughter of Jeffrey and Cheryl (Feeney) McGrath. She attended Newtown schools graduating in 2006. She was the loving and enthusiastic mother to her daughter Kiely, age 8. Her passion and goal in life was to be sure her daughter was happy and loved. Nicole enjoyed creating a fun and nurturing environment not only for Kiely but her neighborhood friends as well. As a family they enjoyed boating on Lake Zoar where Nicole grew up, taking hikes down the river walk near their home and Friday night movie nights.

In addition to her husband, daughter and parents, she is survived by her brothers Jeffrey (JD) and Justin McGrath; her maternal grandparents, Raymond and Geraldine Feeney; paternal grandparents, Barbara Arnold and her husband Paul, George Eich and his wife Marie; her husband Brian’s parents, Tim and Patricia McDonald, his sister Kerry and brother Michael. She also leaves many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and very special friends. Calling hours will be held Friday, Aug. 2, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made payable to the Kiely McDonald Benefit Fund in care of Karen A.
