Obituary: Pauline (Hodio) Del Vecchio, 87, of Beacon Falls

Mes. Del Vecchio was retired from Uniroyal Inc. Footwear Division in Naugatuck.

 

Mrs. Pauline N. (Hodio) Del Vecchio, age 87, of Beacon Falls, died Sunday September 16,2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. She was the wife of Frank J. DelVecchio.

Mrs. Del Vecchio was born in Beacon Falls on April 19,1925 a daughter of the late Harry and Mary Hodio. She was retired from the Uniroyal Inc. Footwear Division in Naugatuck where she had worked for many years and was also a former employee of Big Y Supermarket in Ansonia. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Beacon Falls and enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Del Vecchio is survived by a daughter, Paula Balanda of Beacon Falls, a son, Frank D. Del Vecchio and his wife Kate of Middlebury, three grandchildren, Amy Karpovich and her husband Jon of Thomaston, Frank Del Vecchio and his wife Shawna of Seymour and Antonio Del Vecchio of Middlebury, four great grandchildren, Mason and Jaxon Karpovich and Angelina and Gabriella Del Vecchio and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, David Balanda, a sister, Augusta Taylor and two brothers, Steve Hodio and Ted Hodio.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday September 20,2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church 25 Maple Ave. Beacon Falls. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday September 19,2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home 82 Fairview Ave. Naugatuck.
