My husband and I would like to take this time to commend all the people who devoted their timeless hours to the Emergency Shelter at Great Oak School during the long power outage Oxford residents experienced due to the freak storm on October 29.
Our Fire Marhsall, Scot Pelletier along with our Ambulance workers, Madeline Taggart, Jerry Schwab and also the many volunteers worked endlessly to help everyone who walked through the doors with a smile, encouragement and compassion not to mention the snacks, drinks, coffee, tea and hot dinners they provided and some made. They also offered the use of showers and a warm place to sleep for many to make the days and nights of ‘powerlessness’ more bearable for the residents of the town.
Your hard work and dedication has not gone unnoticed and again, we thank you for your kindness, generosity and endless efforts to make those tough days better for many.
We would also like to thank The Salvation Army and the local eateries who donated food and time to this cause.
God Bless You all,
Jim & Ann Cummings
