OBR 12YO's All Stars going to Regionals

The Oxford 12-year-old baseball Babe Ruth team won the state championship last night. Here is a look at how they accomplished it
Saturday they played Bridgeport and won 2-1,
Sunday they played Newtown and won 14-1,
Tuesday they played Danbury with a winning score of 8-7 and on Thursday Oxford beat Newtown in the Finals 4–0 to capture the State Championship.

The team will now play in the Regional Tournament in Rayham, Mass., on Saturday, July 19.  To help pay for expenses for the week long tournament, we will be having the following events to raise money for the team:

    • On Friday night, July 11, we will have “movie night” at Posy Panko baseball field in Oxford. We will start the festivities at 6:30 p.m. – with food, games, 50/50 and the movie to start around 8:30 p.m.   
    • The team is “shaking the can” at the following locations:
        • Fritz's in Oxford Saturday & Sunday 8am until 2 p.m.
        • Global Gas in Oxford Saturday & Sunday 10am  until 5 p.m.
