OXFORD OFFERS 2 UPCOMING TRIPS!

On Saturday, December 7th we will depart from the Oxford Town Hall at 7:45am and head to Newport  to  visit 2 of the Vanderbilt’s most magnificent mansions –The Breakers and The Marble House, all decked out for the holidays!  Between house visits, we’ll have lunch at the lovely LaForge Casino restaurant.  The menu includes Salad, Broiled Salmon, Chicken Cordon Bleu OR Shepherd’s Pie, Bread, dessert and beverage.  At the end of the day, there will be plenty of free time to do some of your last minute Christmas shopping!  We should arrive back in Oxford at approximately 8:00pm.  The fee of $90pp includes transportation, admissions, lunch and driver gratuity.

Fri-Sun, Mar 7-9:  Depart aboard a deluxe motorcoach bound for the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia.  Visit the National Constitution Center - begin with a multimedia “Freedom Rising”, fascinating exhibit ’Who Can Vote’, take the Oath of Office, celebrate our nation’s history.  2 nights accommodations at the HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS MIDTOWN located in the heart of downtown Philly.  Dinner will be aboard the MOSHULU, a 4 star, 4 diamond ,108 year old Clipper Sailing Ship docked in Penn's Landing, the world’s oldest and largest four masted tall ship still afloat.  On Saturday, we’ll enjoy a historic city tour highlighting the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Elfreth’s Alley and more.  Then we’re off to the fabulous Philadelphia Flower Show - ‘THE ART OF HORTICULTURE”!  The 2014 Flower Show will present ‘Masterpiece’, where flowers and plants will become visual art. Great gardens by some of the world’s renowned designers will provide a sculptural ode to the transformative power of horticulture as art. Edible towers will rise and create a modern version of the classic vegetable garden. Armchair gardeners will create miniature landscapes that seamlessly blend nature and design with Lilliputian perfection. Perspective and movement in the landscape will give rise to a new outdoor living experience of stimulating spaces with functional appeal.  This show is sure to be amazing!  Evening at leisure to enjoy Philadelphia!  On Sunday, we begin with a visit to the Franklin Institute for the special exhibit “A Day in Pompeii”.  In the year 79, Pompeii vanished beneath thick layers of volcanic ash left by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.  But what nature destroyed, it also preserved.  Hundreds of exceptional artifacts offer an insider’s glimpse into the daily life and tragic end of this Ancient Roman city.  From garden frescoes and marble statues to helmets and shin guards of the day’s Gladiators, coins and currency to religious altars and shrines, all set in their original surroundings - you will experience Pompeii.  Then, as the floors shake and the walls rumble, relive the volcano's catastrophic eruption through an immersive  CGI experience, and witness the devastation left in its path.  Sample the best in local and global flavors at the READING TERMINAL MARKETPLACE, this historic building brings local farmers and international food vendors together under one roof.  We head for home with memories of our great 3 days in  Philadelphia.  Fee of $439pp (dbl) includes transportation, 2 nights hotel stay, dinner at Moshulu Restaurant, 2 breakfasts, tours and admissions as shown and driver gratuities.
