Vote Row A for Board of Ed

With only a week to go until election day, I urge Oxford voters to vote Row A all the way on Nov 5. I have had the honor of serving with BOE Chair Paula Guillet over the past two years. Under her non-partisan leadership, the BOE has had a great run of success for the children and taxpayers of Oxford. We have made the town stronger. Paula Guillet deserves to be re-elected. Adding Dave Yish, Melissa Cole, John Hatchell and Sue Kiernan to the BOE will help us "Stay the Course" and continue to elevate the quality of education in Oxford, while continuing to control costs for Oxford taxpayers. We have hired a permanent Superintendent. We have reinstated a vice-principal at GOMS. We have hired a new vice-principal at OHS. We have submitted and passed the leanest BOE budgets in recent Oxford history, making us a credible partner with the Board of Finance in keeping Oxford's mill rate the third lowest in New Haven County. And we have run a surplus, two years in a row! We have done this by successfully negotiating three Union contracts and working on a fourth. We have done a great job with these Union contracts on behalf of the Town, allowing us to spend more on educational enhancements like technology and school security. We are currently researching full day kindergarten. We speak with First Selectman George Temple every day. Anyone who has been in or near our schools  recently can feel the energy. Our test scores are up and I am proud to live in TITLETOWN, CT. Stay the Course! Vote Row A.
