A 56-year-old Waterbury man died in a two-vehicle crash in Oxford Monday morning.
Gerald Bourgoin, of 1149 Hamilton Ave., was driving a minivan when he pulled out of Hawley Road onto Route 67 and ended up in the path of an oncoming tractor trailer near the Southford Cemetery. He died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident, Oxford Resident Trooper Sgt. Dan Semosky said.
Semosky said the Oxford Fire Department extricated Bourgoin. Bourgoin's passenger, Sheila Hernandez, was also hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
A portion of Route 67 was closed Monday following the crash but has since reopened.
