The Jet skiers need to follow the rules! Numerous times we've almost gotten hit by a jet ski while in our boat, my daughter has been in the tube and a jet ski will come within 20 feet of her. The lake patrol really needs to be more aware of what these jet skiers are doing and the rules they are breaking! They took safe boater courses just like we did, they know the law! They need to follow it! A great day on the boat with the family is sometimes ruined by a jet skier because of the "close calls".

I think most of them have NOT taken boater safety courses (most are kids) and I think all jet skiers and boaters should be stopped and checked to make sure they have the proper papers. They are very reckless and a danger to others, not to mention they speed.

I don't believe there is enough regulation and training in nearly all aspects if recreational boating. Too many people just toss common sense overboard as soon as the hit the water.

I do agree with the above comments, my husband and myself took the full day boaters safety course as well as the PWC course. We do not have a jet ski as we have a 20ft boat. We do not allow non licensed people to operate our boat, we have all of our insurance and registration papers on board with us at all times. I've chosen to purchase extra insurance because of the craziness on lake zoar, we sometimes go to candlewood to escape the craziness on lake zoar. Nothing personal about jet skiers but most that operate DO NOT follow the laws, they probably don't know them! The state recently passed a new law that those wanting a PWC license must take the entire boating safety course BUT those that already have their PWC license do not have to take the full course. CRAZY! They should have to take the full course, they need the education as to how far they need to stay away from moving boats and those that are being towed by a boat ie: tubes, water skiers, knee boarders etc. Everyone should have a great time on the water whether you're in a boat or on a jet ski!
