Bridgeport man is charged after accident on Chestnut Tree Hill Road.

A Bridgeport man has been charged with driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol with a child or teenager in the car after he was involved in a car accident in Oxford late at night on Oct. 22, according to a police report.

Claudio Rossi, 48, of 5 Rita Ave., Bridgeport, was involved in a one-car accident that included non-life-threatening injuries to at least one of the car occupants at 11:49 p.m. on Chestnut Tree Hill Road. Police later applied for an arrest warrant to charge Rossi, who voluntarily turned himself into State Police Barracks Troop A in Southbury after learning of the warrant.

The report did not state the age of the child or teen in the car or how Rossi knew him or her. Nor did the report state the extent of the injuries or who sustained them, though the injuries were not believed to be serious.
