Police: Connecticut Man, 22, Confesses to Killing His Father

“Someone was murdered ... My husband is in a pool of blood,” a woman identified by police as the wife of Edward Ramsey said in a 911 recording released Friday by Wilton police.

A 22-year-old Connecticut man who police say confessed to killing his father has been arraigned in state Superior Court in Stamford and held on $1 million bond.

Wearing a light blue overalls-style top and socks with no shoes, Aaron Ramsey of Wilton appeared in court Friday for following the death by blunt force trauma of 73-year-old Edward Ramsey.

“This is a sad day for Wilton and a tragedy for the family,” Wilton First Selectman William Brennan said late Friday morning during a news briefing at the .

Aaron Ramsey reportedly confessed to killing his father late last night after a string of events leading to his arrest.

Police released 911 recordings that convey the horrifying details of the discovery of Edward Ramsey’s body by his wife.

“Someone was murdered ... My husband is in a pool of blood,” a woman identified by police as the wife of Edward Ramsey said in the recording.

The woman told emergency dispatchers that her son was not home. When asked what her son looked like, she responded: “Normal, but I think he had some problems.”

The woman identified as Edward Ramsey’s wife went on to say that her son “has had some problems” recently, and had “been acting very, very strange … either on drugs or, a little psychotic” for “over a week.” She added, when questioned by the emergency operator, that there were no acts of aggression or violence in the home.

Another neighbor of the Ramseys on Signal Hill Road in Wilton—Ann Scozzafava, who has lived in the leafy, quiet neighborhood for 25 years—said she heard and saw police, fire and paramedics vehicles around 4 p.m. Thursday.

“I knew something was wrong but I never imagined this,” Scozzafava told Patch.

“This is a very friendly area, all the neighbors really help each other and it’s great for trick-or-treating and things like that,” she said.

The Ramsey home (pictured at right) is located in northern Wilton, near where the town intersects with Ridgefield and New Canaan and about one mile from the New York state line in Pound Ridge. The home itself is the second of three located on a private driveway off of Signal Hill Road.

The killing occurred some time before 3:20 p.m. Thursday, when police received a phone call from a woman saying a man fled into the woods after trying to break into her car. Ten minutes later, another resident called reporting a male who was “covered in blood and needed medical attention,” according to police reports.

The man, later identified as Aaron Ramsey, had “refused to leave” the second caller’s residence, according to Wilton Police Chief Michael Lombardo. Officials arrived at the Cheese Spring Road home—not far from the Ramsey residence—and took Aaron Ramsey to Norwalk Hospital for treatment.

At 4:24 p.m., police say they received a call from 125 Signal Hill Road and, upon arrival, found Edward Ramsey dead from “apparent blunt force injuries.”

Aaron Ramsey confessed that he killed his father shortly before attempting to enter the car on Cheese Spring Road, police said.

On top of the murder charge, Ramsey also faces charges of first-degree attempted larceny and third-degree burglary. A Wilton police cruiser was parked in the Ramsey driveway Thursday afternoon and later was parked across the private driveway, blocking it.

This article seems to be nothing more than an anonymous and free infomercial for Staples.Read More "J" posted this same spam "article" on Patch sites in many towns, just changing the name of the town to match the Patch site. That seems to be the spirit of Staples, free-loading in every way they can. Even this "teacher program" has nothing to do with eliminating the need for teachers to spend their own money on school supplies --it is simply a way for that retailer to take advantage of the situation by attracting the lucrative teacher market. Staples should change their name to MADE IN CHINA OFFICE SUPPLIES, as virtually nothing they sell is manufactured in our country.
