Regional Crime Roundup: Man Allegedly Hits Neighbor with Snow Shovel

The incident is one of several unusual arrests and investigations from the area.

A man looking for a job in Norwalk reportedly became upset after being told there were no open positions, so he allegedly punched a bartender in the face.

A Monroe woman made an emergency call for a dog bite that could be infected on the heels of the blizzard, so a Department of Public Works crew plowed roads to get EMS and police to her house — then she declined transport to the hospital.

***

A Brookfield resident using his plow to push a car up Federal Road early Sunday morning after the blizzard was arrested for allegedly doing so while under the influence of marijuana.

***

A man with an apparent penchant for expensive clothes is busted by Greenwich Police on charges of apparel from Saks Fifth Avenue.

***

A car left in the snow in Bridgeport was allegedly stolen and led Trumbull Police to arrest a Bridgeport man on a larceny charge.

***

Westport police arrested a Weston woman for DUI after she reportedly failed a field sobriety test and was unable to take a breath test because she could not follow instructions.

***

A Bronx, N.Y. man faces numerous charges after police say he used fake IDs in an attempt to filch $3,900 from the bank account of a New Jersey man at a TD Bank in Fairfield.

***

Redding Police responded to a domestic incident last week and ended up arresting a 66-year-old man for disorderly conduct. Upon searching his house, they seized seven guns, which they'll safely keep until the courts decide whether he can get them back.

***

A Wilton man, who had sent a photo of various perscription drugs and what police called an assault rifle to an aquaintance, was taken to the hospital for psychological examination when Wilton Police responded to his residence and he agreed to exit his home peacefully.

***

Police responding to a disturbance at a Stephen Street apartment in Stamford found a suspect who reportedly bit off more than he could chew. Police arrested the man for allegedly biting off his cousin's ear after his cousin asked him to turn down the loud music so he could rest up for work.

***

Stamford neighbors arguing over where shoveled snow should be discarded called police in to mediate the argument after heated tempers allegedly caused one man to begin striking the other about the head with a snow shovel. Since no injuries were reported, the suspect faces a disorderly conduct charge instead of assault.

Great to see IMTI leading the way into the solar future! I went to that school specifically toRead More become a solar electrician. It was before they had a solar program, at the time it was the E-2 electrical course. I see America has a chance to build prosperity again if we will be forward-looking about our manufacturing and energy strategies. My company, Made In USA Solar LLC, aims to contribute to that in a small way, doing what we can by only installing materials made in USA. Congrats to IMTI on their ambitious solar plans!
