As originally reported by Fairfield Patch Editor Caitlin Mazzola, citing statements made by police, the severed cat head was found Saturday in the backyard of a Steiner Street residence.
A resident reported the disturbing find to Fairfield Animal Control. He reportedly found the head in the backyard of the residence, sitting atop an AstroTurf putting green.
According to police, the cut was clean and did not appear to have been caused by another animal.
It is not known at this time whether the incidents are related.
